Montreal, September 19, 2022 – At a special general meeting held on September 14, members of the Caisse Desjardins des Technologies de l’information voted by a strong majority in favour of the project to merge with the Caisse d’économie Desjardins des employés en Télécommunication. As a result, the two caisses will be combined to form an even stronger caisse with over 13,000 members.
The merger will be officially constituted on January 1, 2023, following approval by the Autorité des marchés financiers. The financial services cooperative will manage a business volume of $1.2 billion and represent assets of over $668 million.
Creation of the Caisse Desjardins des Technologies
This project will foster the development of an even stronger institution that will enable it to establish itself as a key financial leader for workers in the Canadian technology sectors. The Caisse will continue its cooperative mission to contribute to the well-being of the community by supporting various projects through its Community Development Fund, sponsorships and donations. Finally, it will continue to invest in the development of its team’s skills in order to offer high-quality and increasingly specialized financial services to all its members.
This decision will result in few changes for members, but, if necessary, additional information regarding certain technical changes will be communicated to them in the coming months.
The administrators of both caisses were very proud to welcome the decision of the members of the Caisse Desjardins des Technologies de l’information, as they are convinced that a merger is the answer to the challenges of the future.
